dubstronica - rei harakami forever 2012

Fortunately, I found very beautiful DJ mix on soundcloud which was recored by Japanese DJ, dubstroninca who is a Tokyo-based. It is named "rei harakami forever 2012" which is tribute of Japanese legendary electronica producer "rei harakami".

It is like a "very best of rei harakami" which includes a lots of his masterpiece tracks.
The world got really horrible news yesterday from Paris. It made us feel so sad, and feel like really bad weekend. I'm not really sure music can be save us or not, however at the least we need something like help.
Let's pray for the victims and world piece. This DJ mix definitely makes us feel better.
R.I.P....

Japan now! : Urban J-pop band CICADA

If you are a music fan,  probably I don't have to explain about "Trip hop".
It was born in UK, early 1990s. and 20 years past nowadays.
In 2010s, Tokyo has bloody amazing that style music.

Fortunately, I currently found an urban style & true good J-pop band "CICADA". I don't know my opinion is collect or not ( might be collect or not... the answer is up to you)

however I felt these music is really inspired by black roots music and some electronic music when I listened to it at the very first time.

"door" is truly brilliant "Trip hop" style and it got very impressive lyrical electric piano phrase.
It really reminds me that J-Trip hop classic "ACO - 悦びに咲く花 (Yorokobi ni saku hana)".
Anyway, I totally became a huge fan of them.
Highly recommended.

Japan now!: saitou_master - Eighty two

Unfortunately, "Dub Techno" scene is not huge in Japan. However I am convinced of Japanese  "Dub Techno" scene is glowing up day by day in underground club scene . (slowly in progress.... )

Today, I'd like to introduce Tokyo's upcoming Dub Techno young producer "saitou_master".
He's production is not classic dub techno like a "Basic Channel".
I think it is more influenced by "New school " one. (it got taste like Four Tet, Pantha du Prince)

"Eighty two" is based on Dub Techno for sure but it got more melodic synth work. It means the track became more smooth & got deep house taste. I think the style is good for Dub Techno beginners.

I wouldn't say "melodic" style is much preferable to Japanese people, however "saitou_master" suggests his own style for us.

Anyway, He produced good "Dub Techno" stuff. If you are a Dub Techno fan, you should watch out his next step. Fantasy dub blog is gonna be supporting him.

Japan now! :Bim One vs Dry & Heavy - Jam Rock (Respect Remix)

Tokyo based "Bim One Production" which is  teamed up by 2 producers like e-mura and 1TA a.k.a. DJ 1TA-RAW remixed Japanese legendary Dub/Reggae live band "Dry & Heavy"'s (Welcome to the)Jam Rock covered track "Jam Rock".
Bim One Production rebuilt D&H original  to "New roots UK stepper" style.

I do believe  this brilliant remix work definitely work on dance floor It is suitable for DJ playing. If you are a bass music style DJ, must add it to your set.
Highly recommended.

(JP)東京を拠点に活動するe-mura and 1TA a.k.a.

Japan now! : CAPESON - Latent(Tokyo Recordings)

Tokyo-based label"Tokyo Recordings" which is established by former Japanese indie R&B unit "N.O.R.K." 's singer Nariaki Obukuro aka OBKR released an upcoming Japanese urban R&B/Pops singer CAPESON's debut EP"PORTRAIT1".

The release already got attention from some indie music media.
Today, I'd like to introduce a track from this EP which is named "Latent".
It is a very impressive smooth R&B tune. CAPESON's powerful voice really works with　orchestration back track. Especially I like fazz guitar part & I think it really make the track emotional, by the way.

Unfortunately OBKR's N.O.R.K split out lately, however I'd like to say "Don't worry about it. ",  if you are a indie R&B fan.  CAPESON definitely will make you satisfy when you are listening.

Anyway, really looking forward to CAPESON & "Tokyo Recordings"'s next step.
 Highly recommended.

Japan now!: Andrew - Gear Up

Currently I really like this track which is produced by Tokyo's young talented DJ/Producer Andrew(TREKKIE TRAX).
This track "Gear up" is a quite simple track but powerful bassy funky stuff.
If you are a DJ like UK style bass lover, his track would be fit on your DJ set.
Highly recommended. (Especially to DJs)

Japan now! : Various Bass music master DJ 7e from Tokyo

Just started a new article series.
About "Japan now"....
I'm gonna introduce good & forthcoming Japanese club scene 's new key persons who are amazing talented people in Japan.

So, today I'd love to introduce Tokyo based DJ, "7e".
Actually I don't really know this DJ, however her DJ mix which I found  on soundcloud last week.
That's simply wow! when I listened to it at very first time.

She played various alternative, tribal & cutting edge bass music on her DJ set.
It is well dope, tight & danger bass stuff.
Anyway, you definitely listen to it, if you feel getting board about kinda main stream "Bass music".
