A Thousand Words is his longest, largest work to date, and what we can likely all agree this was all coming to - one, single 77-minute piece. Much more than one single narrative, however, it is comprised of 19 movements, and over 500 channels of audio... all performed in one take, live.

(JP)ここのところ沈黙を守っていたDub Techno/Ambientシーン孤高のカリスマ、bvdubが新作をリリースしました。
この新作アルバム「A Thousand Words」はbandcamp上で突如発表され、1曲77分21秒という大作となっています。
なお、このアルバム収益のうち３ドルは、「Animal Rescue League of Berks County」や「SPCA of Wake County」等の動物支援団体に寄付されることになっているとのことです。
ちなみに1テイクのライブレコーディングで完成した楽曲は、500チャンネル以上のオーディオファイルで構成され、これまでの作品の中でもトップクラスに美しく壮大なサウンドスケープが展開されています。
個人的に好きなパートは、28分くらいからのbvdubらしい空間的なリヴァーヴの波が押し寄せてくる感じのアンビエントシンセレイヤーのパートが鳴り止んで、32分くらいから始まる叙情的なピアノパートです。
普段アンビエントを聴かない人も是非、一度日常生活におけるBGMとして聴いてみると良いでしょう。
